The Serbian striker bagged all four Blues goals in the 4-1 win at Elland Road on Tuesday night but it was his workrate which pleased the Blues boss.
"I'm delighted for him because he's a big lad and when you're 6ft 7in at times you're not going to be the most graceful or the quickest," Hughton said.
"He is a player who, if you give good service, can be a real awkward customer to play against.
"He can score goals and he showed that. They were four very good finishes, not only technically very good finishes but also his movement, which was excellent.
"He's a really good lad for us. He always works hard. You'd be surprised the distance he covers in a game, I'm really pleased for him."
