Keith Fahey's goal right on the stroke of half time earned Blues all three points against the Saints at St Andrews on Saturday afternoon. "The back five really showed their experience today and were rock solid. "We know we have wasted some good opportunities but we are still in a strong challenging position. "No-one should forget we have lost key players for long parts of the season and we have been particularly hard done by. The Blues boss also confirmed that he is likely to be without striker Marcus Bent for a while as he had to be substituted early on in the game having sustained a hamstring injury.
"The last four days have been excellent with the players responding to the challenge and I am proud of them all, even those on the bench." the Blues boss said after the game.
"It looks like Bent has done his hamstring," McLeish added.
"It is a shame to lose him because he has been playing to his strength lately."
