The Blues boss was upset with the challenge on the Blues skipper by defender Paul Robinson which resulted in the Baggies man receiving a straight red-card and Johnson left with a suspected broken jaw. "He has gone to hospital with a suspected broken jaw. It doesn't look very good for the kid and when it is shown repeatedly on television it will be a horror show. "The full-back knew what he was doing. I have a lot of admiration for him as a player but for me he knew what he was doing. That was intentional. "We have got to stamp out this sort of thing. It was absolutely disgraceful." "We are only a quarter of the way through the season, which is going to be an absolute marathon. But ask me in January where we are going to finish. "The commitment and effort was fantastic. I thought it was a cracking game which both teams tried to win. "It was disappointing that there was only 21,000 here to see the performance. But I understand it costs so much."
"The disappointing thing about this match was the horrific challenge on Johnson. When everyone sees what happened they will be appalled," Bruce said after the 2-0 win.
Speaking about the game Bruce added: "A week ago the club was in crisis yet we are still in contention.
