"I cannot make any excuses. We were absolutely awful apart from the first 20 minutes," the Blues boss said after the 3-1 home defeat. "This is something I cannot get my head around. We were excellent for the first twenty-minutes and should have scored at least twice, while the referee missed a blatant penalty on Gary McSheffrey. "We then made a horrendous mistake at the other end and afterwards never recovered. "We were not good enough and this is a reminder to everyone that we can't swan away with this league and be Big Time Charlie's. "We did not have one good individual performance. We have set a good standard recently but on this occasion we fell well below that level. "But make no mistake we are going to drop points between now and the end of the season but so are the other teams. "It is now down to how we handle the situation and there is a need to quickly regain our form as we cannot afford anymore of these performances."
