Player Ratings v Liverpool
Last updated : 09 August 2004 By Richard Barker
Bennett - Couldn't be faulted for the goals, and otherwise fine.
Tebily - His typical 'bombscare' performance, looked ok, but you just know that an absolute howler of a mistake is on its way.
Clapham - Generally sound, but I would personally like to see him take on a bit more responsibility at times. He is good going forwards, and the best players are so good because they take risks - he needs to more often.
Cunningham - Had done ok until his sending off, that he may now perhaps regret.
Upson - Had his hands full with Heskey, but battled well and is looking much better again now.
Johnson - Tireless again. No matter how poor his teammates are, you know he will run all day long.
Clemence & Savage - Non existent
Lazaridis - Usual up and down performance.
Morrison - One of his better performance, in my honest opinion. Did pretty well.
Forssell - Lacked service, but still proved a threat with the ball at his feet.
SUBS:
Cisse - Worked hard with little subtlety.
Hughes - Did ok, but looks like a man whose heart is no longer in it.
John - Needs to start next season as a defensive midfielder.
