Blues Player Ratings

Maik Taylor - One or two nervy moments but generally sound.

Melchiot - Sound defensively - except for conceding the penalty - and good going forwards.

Gray - Not tested defensively and a real attacking livewire once again.

Upson - Still not looking at his best.

Martin Taylor -Looked comfortable on the ball and assured defensively.

Anderton -
Superb debut in all respects. Could be very, very useful.

Gronkjaer -
Tried to do too much at times but a real threat and a good goal will help his confidence.

Savage - Fairly quiet but didn\'t really need to be his 110% aggressive, wind-up merchant self.

Clemence - Couldn't be faulted for effort but just lacking once or twice in his final ball.

Yorke - In and out of the game, but nothing spectacular. Game will have done him good again.

Heskey - Frustrated by some offside decisions and not fully firing. Limped off, worryingly.

SUBS:

Morrison -
Decent work-rate and first goal of the season should help him.

Clapham - Quiet, but a welcome sight to see him back invovled.

Dunn - Real cameo performance, basically involving 5 minutes of attempted tricks, though not too much impact. Again, a welcom sight though.
