Blues Player Ratings

Maik Taylor
- Redundant for much of the afternoon.

Melchiot - More composed than last week, and tremendous going forwards.

Lazaridis - Still the odd defensive lapse, but again, excellent on the attack.

Martin Taylor - Far more assured than last week - perhaps thinks about what he is doing too much for a centre half.

Upson - Generally assured against decent opposition.

Gronkjaer - Always a threat and far more lively on the whole than last week.

Johnson - Seems he'll always get picked in any position, and if he keeps working this hard and performing this well, why not?

Izzet - Aggressive when he needed to be, and got into decent attacking positions too.

Savage - A typical Robbie Savage display.

Gray - Very promising full debut. Always eager to take on the full backs.

Heskey - Excellent again, will cause problems for everyone this season.

SUB:
John - Couldn't quite make his 'Super Sub' impact.
