Player Ratings v Arsenal
Last updated : 09 August 2004 By Richard Barker
Bennett - Very comfortable and composed display, if not tested as much as he'd have anticipated.
Tebily - One or two scary moments, but generally excellent - good defending, both on the ground and in the air.
Clapham - Looked a little exposed, and some woeful distribution.
Cunningham - Generally sound, but one or two very uncharacteristic errors - most notably a through ball to Bergkamp.
Upson - Clearly relished his return to Highbury and his contest with Monsieur Henry.
Johnson - Worked tirelessly as ever, but perhaps a little inhibited as a result of his opponents - but in fairness, that's understandable.
Lazaridis - Similar to Johnson, but carried a far greater threat going forward.
Savage - Worked hard, and put himself about. Didn't get into the game as much as he would have liked.
Clemence - Started poorly, but grew in confidence as the game went on, and tried to influence things in the second half.
Dunn - Magnificent return to action, and looked so at ease with the ball at his feet. A fully fit David Dunn could be the key to a good year next season.
Morrison - Didn't really trouble Campbell and Toure, but tried his best.
SUBS:
John - Ok
Hughes - The freshest set of legs on the pitch did the least amount of work.
