Manager Keith Bertchin fielded an experienced side but Blues were convincingly beaten by West Brom who scored through Turner (22 minutes), Dichio (73 minutes) and Taylor (90 minutes).

Trialist Darryl Powell completed a full ninety minutes for Blues, enhancing his chances of being offered a contract at the club.
