Blues have already had the pleasure of Mr Webb refereeing two of their league fixtures so far this season whilst the South Yorkshire official has taken charge of one league fixture and one Carling Cup tie for the Reds.
The last time Howard Webb refereed a Blues game was back on 3rd October in the 2-2 home draw against Newcastle United. Three Blues players were booked at St Andrew's that day - David Dunn, Steven Clemence and the now departed Robbie Savage.
Howard Webb was also the man in the middle for Blues first game of the season against Portsmouth back in August. Muzzy Izzet, Martin Taylor, Stan Lazaridis and Savage all picked up yellow cards during the 1-1 draw at Fratton Park.
The last time Mr Webb refereed a Liverpool league game was on 3rd January this year in their 2-1 away win at Norwich City. Steve Finnan, Sami Hyypia and Stephen Warnock were all cautioned for the Reds on that occasion.
Howard Webb had also refereed Liverpool's Carling Cup 4th round tie against Middlesbrough back in October when just Salif Diao (now on loan with Blues) was booked in the Reds 2-0 victory at Anfield.
In total then Howard Webb has taken charge of 21 league and cup games so far this season in which he has handed out 62 yellow cards but no reds.
Mr P Norman and Mr J Devine will be Howard Webb's assistants for the game at St Andrew's on saturday afternoon.
