The Blues defender has been named in England coach Sven-Göran Eriksson's 24-man squad for the game on wednesday, 9th February.

Upson was not available for selection for Blues' game against Manchester United today having picked up a hamstring injury during training this week so it remains to be seen if he'll be fit enough to team up with the England squad this coming week.

Former Blues striker Andrew Johnson has been named in the England squad for the first time.
