The Blues centre-back has been named in Ireland manager Brian Kerr's squad for the crunch Group Four match at Landsdown Road, Dublin on Wednesday, 7th September.
The Republic of Ireland currently sit at the top of the Group Four table with 13 points from their seven games played whilst the French are in 4th spot with 10 points from their six games played. However the French play the Faroe Islands, who are bottom-of-the table, four days before the game in Dublin.
