Manager Steve Bruce has been told by the Blues board of directors that he is not under pressure to sell any of his big name players following the club's relegation from the Premiership but a bid in the region of £5million for Heskey would surely tempt Bruce to part with the striker that he signed from Liverpool two seasons ago for £6.25 million.
"We are interested in Heskey and we plan to be very active in the transfer market over the coming weeks" Wigan's assistant manager Chris Hutchings told the Manchester Evening News.
Blackburn Rovers and Fulham have also been linked with the former England striker over the past few weeks.
