"It was a vital result because, combined with the other scores, it has given us a little bit of breathing space," the Ireland international skipper told the B'ham Post
"But there's still work to be done and it can change quickly, as we found out after the West Brom game when we thought we were out of it, but results went against us and we were right back in it.
"The same could happen again this week, so we have to guard against it."
