"This will be the first pre-season I've missed and that's frustrating. I will report back with the rest of the lads on Monday but for me it's a case of rehabilitation," Vickers told the B'ham Evening Mail.
"The operation I had was a decompression of the patella tendon and a clear-up around the left knee.
"I was told it's the sort to keep you out for a while and I'm looking at the end of August or probably some time in September before I can play again."
