Blues boss Steve Bruce was believed to be keen on bringing the 25-year-old Northern Ireland international keeper to St. Andrew's earlier this summer but his interest deterred as Blues contentrated their efforts on bringing in number one transfer target David Dunn to the club.
However, following the capture of Dunn last week, Bruce revealed his intentions now were to bring in much needed goalkeeping cover before the new season begins next month and Carroll could once again become his number one target.
