The versatile defender, who completed a £1.25 million move from Blackburn on transfer deadline day to become Blues' only signing during the January transfer window, also said that manager Steve Bruce was one of the main reasons for him moving to St. Andrew's.
"The manager here was a major influence on my decision," Taylor told the Blues official website, www.bcfc.com
"Steve Bruce was one of the top centre halves in the country, I have heard that he is a top coach and I'll have a lot to learn from him. I hope that he will be able to help me progress as a player.
"Also with the way that Birmingham play, I think I will enjoy playing my football here.
"I have followed in the footsteps of Jeff Kenna, David Dunn and Damien Johnson," he added
"It seems to be a very friendly club and everyone has been fantastic with me.
"Birmingham fans are fantastic. They make a lot of noise and create a great atmosphere.
"It does lift the team and gets everybody going and that's what you want to play in front of."
