After just missing out on a top ten finish last season, Paulo Di Canio's last minute goal for West Ham in the final game of the season denying them that, Bruce has said he would be content to finish in that position this season. "Who knows where we can finish? Last season we were just ten seconds away from finishing tenth and I would willingly finish in that position this season. "Seven or eight points in this division takes you from the middle to the top six, or if you lose these points it drops you down among the bottom clubs."
"I said at the start of the season that we have to keep our feet on the ground and not get carried away," he said.
