Blues boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that Tebs has been struggling with the injury and feels the long coach trip to The Riverside will not help.
Bruce has recalled defender Martin Grainger from his loan spell at Coventry as defensive cover for the Ivory Coast international.
Grainger is likely to go straight into the side in his favoured left-back position allowing Matty Upson to revert back to centre-back with recent signing Martin Taylor likely to take-up the injured Tebily's right-back position.
Damien Johnson is another choice available to Bruce for the right-back slot, the Northern Ireland international is available again having now served his one game ban for five bookings this season.
