Tchato to return on trial

Tchato had a brief trial at the club just before Christmas and manager Steve Bruce wants to take a further look at the player when the New Year festivities are over.

Bruce said: "We had a look at him before Christmas but, because it coincided with the freezing spell of weather we encountered, we did not see much of him.

"He is coming back to train again after the festive season, when hopefully we can have better weather to judge him."
