Sutton, who signed a short term deal with the Blues in January following his release from Celtic, was forced to sit out the home draw with Newcastle Utd on Saturday with a groin injury and co-owner David Sullivan has revealed that he will not be offered a longer deal at the club now that Blues face at least a season of Championship football.
"Every penny has to count. Sutton won't be here," Sullivan told the Daily Star newspaper.
"I think he's a very talented player but he's cost us £45,000 a week, which works out at well over £1million and he's only played a handful of games.
"We had some lads out there against Newcastle who won't want to break sweat playing in the Championship against the likes of Southend and Colchester."
