Newspaper articles suggest that Blues have put in a £6million bid for the former Wolves and Coventry striker and say that Spurs have not rejected the offer yet.
On my way home from the Blackburn game on Saturday I heard one radio station suggest that Blues had enquired about Alan Smith at Leeds and Jermain Defoe at West Ham. The radio station went on to say that having been put-off by the high wage demands of these two they have turned to Irish international Keane to help solve their goalscoring problems.
Can Spurs afford to part with Keane? Every player as his price I know but given their perilous position in the League table and with the impending possible six week absence of Mali striker Freddie Kanoute to Tunisia for the African Nations Cup this rumour, in my opinion, seems hardly likely to develop into anything serious during this months transfer window at least!
