Savage had considered contesting the ban at the Court of Arbitration of Sport in Switzerland in an effort to get the decision overturned but had been advised against that by both Blues boss Steve Bruce and Wales' departing coach Mark Hughes for fear that the ban could be increased.
Sav will be forced to sit out Wales' next qualifier against England at Old Trafford on October 9th
