Savage handed in a written transfer request on Monday and was subsequently dropped for the Premier League fixture against Bolton on Tuesday evening.
Now, as had been forecast, Savage will take his place in Keith Bertschin's side for the game against Newcastle Reserves which with the right result could see the Blues second string return to the top of the league table.
New signing Njazi Kuqi makes his first appearance for Blues since his signing from FC Lahti at the beginning of the month.
