Robbie to play through pain barrier

Savage has been unable to train properly since sustaining the injury in the 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium Of Light in November.

"I've tweaked my medial ligament and every time I hit the ball it's just sore, said the Blues midfielder.

"I haven't trained for a month and it's frustrating. In an ideal world I would have a rest but I can't because we've got a hell of a lot of injuries and suspensions.

"I'll just keep plodding away and as long as I can do my best for the team and can make a contribution, then I will carry on. I just love playing football.

"I'll keep doing that because it's crucial we get to 40 points as soon as we can and also try and have a good run in the FA Cup. A final at the Millennium Stadium would obviously be special for me as a Welshman. I think it shows the kind of character that I am to keep performing."
