“I’ve had a couple of scans on the ankle that haven’t really shown up much but the Friday before the Charlton Athletic game I got a whack on it and it didn’t settle down,” said Purse.
“They will flush the joint out and have a look inside and, if nothing serious is found, I will be three or four weeks away from coming back.
“I’ve tried to leave it and rest it in between games for a long time now so at least I will have an exact timescale to work from, knowing it’s okay,” he added.
