The England Under 19 international defender will now be remaining on loan with The Iron until the end of the season having originally moved to Glanford Park on loan until the end of December.
Pearce made his 16th start for Scunthorpe in their 4-0 FA Cup 2nd Round home win against Alfreton Town at the weekend and he is aware that his eye-catching performance's for The Iron have not gone un-noticed by Blues boss Alex McLeish.
"Extending my loan is definitely something I wanted to do," he told the official Scunthorpe website.
"I want to play here and be part of a team going for promotion. Hopefully we can do that.
"Now my short-term future is all sorted, hopefully I can focus on being successful at Scunthorpe United.
"I've heard a few things from my Birmingham boss Alex McLeish saying that I'm doing well, and I'm looking to build on it."
