England's two home 2006 World Cup qualifiers against Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan are to be played on Saturday, 26th March and Wednesday, 28th March respectively.
So, the plan put forward by England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson for a two-week winter break during the Premiership season 2004-05 has had to be scrapped.
Easter Sunday next year is on 27th March meaning clubs will be unable to play any domestic football over the holiday period.
The two year trial period for a winter break is now expected to begin in season 2005-06.
