No Blades Move For Benno

Blades boss Neil Warnock had been hoping to have Blues' long serving keeper between the sticks for his side's first division clash with Burnley this weekend but Bruce has decided not to allow any of his senior players to go out on loan.

“I did ponder the situation for a couple of days but I cannot risk it," said Bruce.

“I need to look after this football club and although it’s tempting for Ian to get some match practice with his home-town club, it is better that he stays here.

“I don’t think Nico Vaesen will be ready to play again in the Premiership until much later this season. He may be fit but he’s been out for eight months. That’s an awful long time and it takes you time to get back into it.”
