The popular 34-year-old Belgian keeper has not played since damaging knee ligaments in the Premiership fixture against the Villa in March this year.
Nico Set For Reserves Outing
Because of a mini goalkeeping crisis, Maik Taylor's one game suspension and Colin Doyle being sidelined with a knee injury, Vaesen was named amongst the Blues subs for the Premiership clash against Villa at St. Andrew's on Sunday even though he has not long returned to training and as had no match action at all since that ill-fated night at Villa Park last season.
However,Vaesen is expected to get a Reserves game under his belt when Keith Bertschin's side entertain Everton's second string at Damson Park on Wednesday.
