Vaesen, who has recently returned to action in Blues Reserves side following seven months on the sidelines with a knee ligament injury, has moved to The Priestfield Stadium on an initial one months loan deal.
Nico is expected to go straight into the Gills side that face Watford, and former team-mate Paul Devlin, on Boxing Day.
