The Belgian keeper has been given permission by Blues to extend his loan stay at Selhurst Park following the Eagles success in reaching the Nationwide Division One play-offs where they will play Sunderland over two-legs for a place in the final in Cardiff later this month.
Veasen knows all about the play-offs of course as he was between the sticks in Blues' two-legged semi-final affair against Millwall and ultimately the final against Norwich City exactly two-years ago when Blues regained their top-flight status after a 16-year gap.
Former Blues striker Andrew Johnson will also feature for Iain Dowies side against Sunderland and he will be hoping to be making his third visit to Cardiff in four years.
AJ, who moved to the Eagles as part of the deal which brought Clinton Morrison to St Andrews, was the player who missed the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out which saw Liverpool beat Blues in the Worthington Cup Final in 2001. He was an extra-time sub in the play-off final against Norwich a year later.
Palace play Sunderland at home in the first leg on Friday night, with the second leg at The Stadium Of Light on Monday night. The winners will meet either West Ham or Ipswich in the final on Saturday, May 29th.
We wish both Nico and AJ well in their quest for a return to Cardiff.
