Savage returned to the Blues side at Wolves on Saturday after missing the previous two games against Bolton and Charlton with an Achilles injury.
However Savage, who on Sunday was named the Midlands Player of the Year by the Football Writers' Association, has now revealed he has a sore hamstring and faces a race against time to be fit to take his place in Mark Hughes' side in the first leg of the play-off's against the Russians in Moscow on Saturday.
