Murphy has to serve an automatic one game suspension for that dismissal and would have missed the FA Cup home tie against Wolves on Saturday, 3rd January.
However, with the Wolves game being postponed he will now miss the trip to Bloomfield Road this coming weekend.
New signing Keith Fahey will also be ineligible to play against The Seasiders because he also picked up a one game suspension whilst playing for Irish side St Patricks Athletic pror to his move to Blues.
