Mr Halsey In The Middle For Everton Game

Last updated : 10 February 2004 By Brian Cartlidge

The Bolton official, who has not refereed a Blues game so far this season, has been in charge of 12 Premiership games this term, handing out 27 yellow cards and 2 reds.

The last time Mr Halsey refereed a Blues fixture was back in March last year and the infamous local derby game at Villa Park when defender Kenny Cunningham collected his one and only yellow card of the campaign. Paul Devlin was also booked in that game and Villa had Dion Dublin and Joey Gudjonsson sent-off.

The last time Mr Halsey was in charge of a game at St. Andrew's was just over a year ago in the 3-1 home defeat to Chelsea on 8th February 2003, midfielder Damien Johnson being cautioned on that occasion.

Everton fans have had the pleasure of Mr Halsey's refereeing on two occasions this season. The first of those games was on the opening day of the season back in August when Thomas Gravesen and Wayne Rooney were booked and defender Li Tie was sent-off. Their last game with Mr Halsey in charge was in the 0-0 draw at Middlesbrough back in December when Gravesen, Li Tie and David Unsworth were all cautioned.
