Mourinho: Birmingham Deserved A Point

Blues came close to taking all three points against the Champions elect after taking a second half lead and then defending resolutely against Chelsea's star-studded strikeforce and the Chelsea boss admitted anything other than a draw would have been an unjust result.

"It was a bad performance in the first half. It looked like a friendly that was played in the heat of August. But the second half was a real game," the Chelsea manager said after the 1-1 draw.

"Birmingham fought well and defended well. The goal we conceded was silly, and they defended for their lives after that.

"It would have being unjust had we scored a winner - Birmingham deserved their point.

"It's not for me to say but I think there were five penalty shouts out there.

"I want to be champion of the league. It does not matter when it happens, at home or away, I don't care.

"We are 11 points clear at the top. So we can control the position.

"Had we got that point at the beginning of the season, it would have been a problem, but with the countdown to the title on, the point was a positive step towards becoming champions."
