The Blues midfielder has not played since the home defeat against Everton at St Andrew's back in November, a game in which he was shown a red card for a deliberate handball which resulted in the penalty kick that gave the visitors a 1-0 win.
Izzet has made just ten appearances for Blues since his free transfer signing from Leicester City in the summer.
