"It's still has to be finalised, but both clubs have agreed, and the lad is down with us and training," Plymoth boss Paul Sturrock told BBC Radio Devon.
"We were going to take him for a year but we feel that three months will be long enough for us to see him, and for him to see us.
"So we've committed for three months but if he does stay for the whole season then it means he's done a good job for us."
Sturrock recently signed another of Blues youngsters when he took defender Tony Capaldi to Plymouth after he was not offered a new deal with Blues at the end of last season.
