The Blues forward has started just one Premier League match this season whilst his other six appearances have all come from the substitutes bench. "I have just got to keep plugging away, keep my chin up and keep working hard. "Yes, it's frustrating feeling like you are just making the numbers up on the bench. But a chance might come because we're not really winning or scoring much, so you have to stay positive and train hard and keep a good attitude."
Blues boss Alex McLeish revealed recently that Sheffield United were keen on signing McSheffrey but little appears to have developed on that front.
"You're always hopeful. But it's not looking great," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"I'm not getting on when I've felt I could maybe make a difference.
"You have just got to try and be mentally strong, and stay focused on your job, what you do.
"It's about being determined and doing the right things every day.
