The Blues boss was of the opinion that, on chances created, Blues deserved to have taken all three points from the match at St Andrews on Sunday afternoon. "We are disappointed not to have got three points," McLeish told Sky Sports after the goalless draw. "That is a measure of how well the team played today. "We got the ball into strikers, got support to them and James McFadden looked very sharp, but we lacked that little bit of composure in front of goal and I am hoping that will come. "It was a great team performance." "We will lose him next week (against Liverpool) so that is disappointing. "Barry had a little rush of blood, maybe thought they could break up the park and score, but they had a lot to do from that situation."
James McFadden had the best of those chances but his second half penalty was saved by man-of-the-match Shay Given.
McLeish was, however, disappointed at seeing Barry Ferguson dismissed in the dying moments for handling a Manchester City throw-in - referee Mike Dean sending-off the Blues midfielder for what was undeniably a second bookable offence.
"He should have known better and he has apologised," McLeish said.
"He had another influential game and it's disappointing to lose him, we can't afford the indiscipline over the season, especially with such a fragile squad, to go awry at any stage.
