The Blues midfielder was substituted just 27 minutes into the 2-1 home win against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night with a thigh strain.
"I'm not sure about Carsley's injury but I think it was more precautionary," the Blues boss has told the Birmingham Mail.
"He's been feeling his thigh for two or three days and only told me at half-time.
"Carsley's the type of guy that would go through brick walls so we're hopeful that he'll be okay for the Wolves game this weekend, because he had a real determination in his game against Ipswich."
