Blues have managed to win two and draw one of their opening six Premier League matches and were only beaten by a single goal in two of their three away matches against Manchester United and Tottenham. "They've also shown at times that they can strut their stuff quality-wise, like in the second half of the game at Tottenham. "You've just got to manage things as best as you can and get the best out of the players. "My job is to get the best out of the players at my disposal and if I do that, then I'll be able to sleep at night. "I've not been unhappy with the performances at all and even the chances we've created. "It's frustrating we haven't converted some of those chances but if we keep making them, I am confident people like Garry O'Connor and Christian Benitez will get goals."
"From what I've seen from these players, I am confident they can compete with anybody," McLeish has said.
"I'm not saying they will beat everybody, but I feel they've got the spirit and determination and no little skill.
