The Blues boss is hopeful of signing Honduras international striker Carlos Costly and an un-named centre-half before the window closes at 5pm next Monday. "We're still trying to do a couple of things," McLeish told The Birmingham Mail. "I don't like telling the fans something that's going to happen and then it doesn't. "But I don't think it's any secret that we've made an inquiry for Costly and the next stage is to see if we can get it over the line. "That's always the difficulty in transfers, getting it over the line. "You can be recommended Tom, Dick and Harry and sometimes it never happens. "But we are trying to do a couple: get a target man in and we are working on the centre-back situation as well to bolster that position."
