Larsson has been used mainly from the substitutes bench whenever chosen to represent his country in recent times but he is aiming at securing a regular place in the starting XI after the World Cup qualifying campaign comes to end on Wednesday evening. "The goal is to be a starting player in the national team," the Blues midfielder told Fotbollskanalen. "Of course I am grateful to be selected, but my goals are higher than that.
"It is my goal to be selected for the starting XI and be a regular in it."
Sweden's hopes of reaching the World Cup Finals in South Sfrica next year appear to be remote as they have to beat Albania in Stockholm on Wednesday evening and also hope that Malta can beat Portugal in Lisbon on the same night.
