Larsson was asked to occupy the right-back position in Blues' last match against Burnley because Stuart Parnaby sustained an injury in the previous match against Sheffield Wednesday and Stephen Kelly has been allowed to leave Blues for a loan spell at Stoke City. "It is obvious that I will want to leave," Larsson has told Swedish newspaper Sportbladet. "It's obvious that you don't want to play a second consecutive year in the Championship. "That is not something I am keen to do. You want to play at the highest level.
Swedish international midfielder Larsson has also revealed that he would not be happy at having to play another year of Championship football should Blues fail to gain promotion this season.
On having to play in defence, Larsson added: "The last two matches I have played as a right-back and that is not something that I want do.
"I have made no secret of that. But we have had many injuries in that position and the coach has demanded that I do a job for the team."
