The 19-year-old Blues midfielder, who bagged his fifth goal in eight games for the Latics in their 2-1 win against Peterborough on Tuesday, is currently halfway through a second month on loan at Boundary Park and with the deadline for long term loan deals needing to be completed by December 31st, Latics boss Brian Talbot has, according to the Lancashire club, been given the go-ahead by Blues to keep Kilkenny until May.
The decision now rests with Kilkenny himself who has to decide whether it is beneficial to him to stay at Boundary Park and play regular first team football or return to St Andrews where it is more than likely that he will just be playing Reserve team football.
