The newspaper report claims Reading want to strike a loan deal for Johnno before their first game of the season at Ipswich but Blues are said to want a fee for the long serving defender.
Nicknamed 'Magic' by the St. Andrew's faithful, Blues paid Notts County £225,000 for the popular centre back in 1995.
