Jerome has failed to find the net in 22 top flight games since netting against Stoke in early November.
But Blues boss Alex McLeish has hailed Jerome's general contribution to winning the Carling Cup and battling to remain in the Premier League for a third successive season.
Jerome, who scored 11 Premier League goals last season, said: "I think my all-round game has improved a hell of a lot and I'm a handful for any defender.
"No defender in this league likes playing against me. All I know is the manager appreciates what I've done, the boys in the dressing room appreciate it and, as for other people, well that's up to them.
"That's no real concern of mine. My job is to do what I do for the team."
