Knee ligament damage was feared when the England international centre-forward was stretchered from the pitch just 18 minutes into Blues' final pre-season friendly against the Spanish side at St Andrews.
However, scans have revealed soft tissue damage and Heskey could even be fit in time for Blues' opening game of the season against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Saturday.
