Gold's word of warning

Last updated : 11 October 2002 By Brian Cartlidge
Blues are facing two FA charges of misconduct because of fans invading the pitch during the recent local derby with arch rivals Aston Villa at St Andrews.

And so, Gold has written to season ticket holders with a warning that FA inspectors would be at every remaining fixture at St Andrews this season and future punishment from them could include the closure of the first three rows of seats in the Tilton Road and The Kop.

"I cannot stress to you enough that any future incidents from now on could result in further serious consequences for the club; one of which could result in the Football Association and various authorities ordering the first three rows of the Tilton and Kop stand to be closed," the letter says.

"As I am sure you are aware, due to the number of season ticket holders that the club currently has, this would mean that there would be no seats available to relocate supporters in those first three rows to an alternative area."
